We're glad you're visitin' the pages of our Missouri Chapter of the 'Western Music Association', the *Show-Me Westerneers*. That means you enjoy listenin' to songs and stories 'bout the cowboy and his horse and their adventures out on the rugged plains. You'll probably hear a few 'words of wisdom' and some cowboy humor from some great cowboy poets and storytellers while settin' 'round the campfire. A pot of campfire coffee will most likely be settin' in the hot coals of the campfire while you're listenin' to many of those songs that became traditional and great classics songs of the old west.
Today, our performin' WMA members still sing those great songs, plus many of their own songs, traditional and contemporary. Great stories of the old west and the cowboy way are kept alive by our western storytellers, cowboy poets and specialty performers in the Missouri Chapter of the WMA, the 'Show-Me Westerneers'. So, .....
Our Location: Territorial boundaries consist of the state of Missouri, not to exclude any interested parties regardless of location.
Mission Statement: To bring the Western Music Association closer to the people of the midwest and create better access for groups and individuals to support our mutual interests in the heritage and culture of the cowboy/cowgirl and Western Music.
Our Objectives: To keep the preservation and promotion of western music, the culture and hertiage of the cowboy and cowgirl. To educate the younger ones of the cowboy's music and the 'Code of the West' so they will carry on the music and traditions of the cowboy and cowgirl of the old west.
